1. What Little Knights is

Little Knights is a free chess-learning board for children and the grown-ups who play with them. You play both sides together. Coaching tips, hints, XP, and levels are learning aids. They are not a chess rating and not professional instruction.

2. Grown-up supervision

Children should use Little Knights with a parent, guardian, or teacher who sets up players and chooses which tools they can use. By letting a child use the app, you confirm you are their parent, guardian, or have their permission.

3. Your privacy

Little Knights does not collect personal information. See the Privacy Policy for details about what is stored on your device and how to delete it.

4. Acceptable use

Use the app for personal, family, or classroom learning. Do not copy, resell, or redistribute the app or its artwork and text as your own without permission from Bret Patton.

5. No warranty

The app is provided “as is.” We try to make it accurate and reliable, but we do not guarantee that it is error-free, that every chess rule edge case is covered, or that read-aloud voices will be available on every device.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Bret Patton is not liable for any indirect or incidental damages, or for lost progress or settings, arising from use of the app.

7. Changes

We may update these terms when the app changes. The effective date above shows the latest version.

8. Credits

The natural voices were recorded with Kokoro-82M by hexgrad, used under the Apache License 2.0 (apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0). The phone app is built with Capacitor (MIT License).
